          <datacite:description descriptionType="Abstract">The mineral content of waters which use to Phalaenopsis production in Japan and neighboring countries differs among farms. Fertilization program have to consider adjusting to mineral contents of waters. Considering levels of mineral contents in original waters;１）tap waters in Japan requires no special adjustment; ２）well waters in Japan which contains higher NO^-_3 requires adjustment to reduce N level in a fertilization; ３）well waters in Japan which contains higher Ca^&lt;2+&gt; requires adjustment to reduce Ca^&lt;2+&gt; level in a fertilization. Water quality in neighboring countries differs depending on areas and countries. Water samples from Taiwan, Cambodia and Thailand in this investigation showed no higher levels of mineral ions. Some water samples from China contain higher levels of Ca^&lt;2+&gt; and are inadequate for Phalaenopsis production.</datacite:description>
