Firstly, the latest version of national curricula of English language teaching in both countries will be compared. Secondly, the relationships between CEFR and CEFR-J, and in particular, how CEFR-J has developed will be explained and the contents of the national curriculum of Japan and Korea will be compared with those of CEFR and CEFR-J. Thirdly, some of the teaching materials for listening which are used in the textbooks of elementary schools in both countries will be presented with the descriptors of CEFR and the national curriculum achievement standards.
