Further, it aims to empirically reveal the kind of training opportunities that have been used to develop these abilities. To achieve this aim, a questionnaire survey was administered targeting 30 primary schools in Prefecture A, and a quantitative analysis was conducted on the responses received from 441 primary school teachers. First, the results revealed four factors that affect Japanese language teaching ability: the ability to understand and control students, the ability to evaluate learning,the ability to design and develop lessons, and the ability to develop teaching units.Second, the results indicated four characteristics of effective training that influence the development of Japanese language teaching ability: training with colleagues, out-of-school training, autonomous teaching improvement activities, and an environment that promotes training.
