The working population has made the transition from resource-intensive industries to knowledge-based industries through the development of technology. In order to effectively adapt learning by making in technology education to knowledge-based industries, we have to change the basic approach to learning from a work-based to a design-based approach, and the elements used from resource-intensive to knowledge-based. A learning approach that regards making something as a trial model is effective in lessons focused on design, and introducing knowledge-based elements in lessons is effective for students to learn the concept of system, in which students regard the parts as functioning elements and produce a new function by connecting them. Moreover, the concept of system allows teachers to smoothly implement lessons focused on design because the process of design applies an approach to choice and connection of elements.
