The author demonstrates that learning by making is a kind of design process because learning by making in technology education is not aimed at mass production. Moreover, through an investigation of learning in technology lessons focused on design, the author describes the importance of first learning about the choice and composition of elements, as well as the importance of students acquiring the skills of analysis and synthesis.
