When they take a class, only their BICS (Basic Interpersonal Communication Skills) are insufficient in subject learning. There is a need to strengthen the CALP (Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency), when they read the text and answer the questions. In the case of a written test, the students will have to answer the questions. Responding is easy, but a written answer is more difficult. Therefore, in order to use the smartphone voice recognition technology to assist in JSL student learning, we need to do 2 things. 1: Develop a program to recognize and relay Japanese from speech to characters. 2: Implement the “SHIRITORI” game in the student's curriculum in order to expand their vocabulary.
