We analyzed activity logs and conducted a questionnaire. The students belonged to the Faculty of Education and wrote logs after each time they participated in school support. In the analysis of activity logs, we classified each sentence into one of five categories: 1) teachers' work contents and role, 2) subjects and courses, 3) educational contents and strategies for lessons, 4) children's development and interaction with them, and 5) cooperation with colleagues, parents and the community. The analysis shows that students understand more about teaching as they progress through their college careers. The students show a strong interest in children's behavior and thought in their first two years at university. In their third year, students demonstrated an additional strong interest in educational content and materials development. The questionnaire asked students about their awareness about the profession of teaching, and their relevant activities such as school support, classes in their undergraduate program, and activities in their campus life. The analysis indicates that students feel it is useful to observe teachers at work, and deal with the challenges involved with school support to understand more about teachers' roles and the content of their work. In summary, this study shows that continuous involvement in school support has a positive effect on the understanding of the teachers' work and role of students.
