@article{oai:aue.repo.nii.ac.jp:00007220, author = {稲葉, えいり and 稲葉, みどり}, journal = {教科開発学論集}, month = {Mar}, note = {text, 本研究では、日本語を母語とする英語学習者が英語の受動態を習得する際の問題や困難について考察する。英語学習者の受動態の習得における代表的な問題の1つとして、自動詞を受動化してしまう誤用が多くの先行研究から明らかになっている。中でも非対格動詞を受動化する誤用は、過剰受動化(overpassivization)と呼ばれ、日本人だけでなく、韓国語や中国語などの他の言語を母語とする英語学習者にも見られることが報告されている(Ju,2000; Shin, 2011 他)。学習者の過剰受動化の原因には様々な学説がある。本研究では、はじめに受動態の習得に関する先行研究を概観し、受動態の習得について再検証すべき点を明らかにした。次に、日本の大学で英語を学ぶ大学生を対象に、実際に非対格動詞(自他交替のある; unaccusative verb)の受動化の誤用が見られるかどうかを、文法性判断タスクを用いて再検証した。その結果、被験者は、1)非対格動詞の自動詞用法の能動文が正しい文であるにも関わらず、正しくないと判断する傾向があること、2)非対格動詞の受動文(過剰受動文)が非文であるにも関わらず容認する傾向が見られることが明らかになった。これらの結果は、Yamakawa (1994)、Ju(2000)、Kondo(2005)の過剰受動化は起こるという主張に更なる証拠を付け加えた。今後の課題は、スピーキングやライティング等のタスクを用いて、実際に言語を発信した時のデータの分析をすることである。, The present study investigated the acquisition of English passive voice by native speakers of Japanese learning English as a second language. (hereafter, JLEs: Japanese learners of English). It focuses on the learners’ overpassivization errors. These errors are caused by passivizing a kind of intransitive verb known as an ‘unaccusative verb’ (Perlmutter, 1978) and result in incorrectly produced sentences. The previous studies, such as Yamakawa (1994), showed that the English learners often make overpassivizing errors. Shin (2011) revealed that errors of overpassivization can be remedied as English learners’ proficiency levels increase. Ju (2000) and Kondo (2005) investigated whether the conceptualizable agent affects learners’ cognition when they choose voice in a sentence. Yamakawa (1994), by analyzing production data of translated sentences from Japanese to English, discovered that some JLEs might not accurately understand the agent-patient relationship. To examine these findings and confirm their claim, the researchers conducted a grammaticality judgment task including three types of sentences: Type A) active voice sentences with transitive verbs (correct sentences), Type B) active voice sentences with intransitive (unaccusative) verbs (correct sentences), and Type C) passive voice sentences with intransitive (unaccusative) verbs (overpassivized and incorrect sentences). The subjects are 50 JLEs at a university in Japan. The central issue here is whether JLEs accept or reject the overpassivized unaccusative sentences. The results of the study indicate that the JLEs accept Type A, but they tend to reject Type B even though those sentences are correct, and they tend to accept Type C, overpassivised sentences, even though those are incorrect. The results added further evidence to the research by Yamakawa (1994) that JLEs tend to make overpassivization errors of particular verbs and contexts, and support the claim by Ju (2000) and Kondo (2005) that learners’ overpassivization errors do occurs in the sentences with intransitive (unaccusative) verbs. However, the number of verbs (sentences) analyzed in the present study is small and limited. It focused on the three verbs (sentences including the verbs) in each verb category.
