| 内容記述 | The purpose of this report is to investigate the relationship of the φ coefficient and the G index. Jonson & Vegelius's report has some questions. Their result contains the case of the cell value = 0 and marginal value = 0, so the relationship between the φ coefficient and the G index becomes not so clear. In order to make the relationship more clearer, 2 × 2 contingency tables, the number 37500 (7500 × 5), are made by the microcomputer program of random number generater, and the two coefficients are calculated. Tables that the difference of the G index and φ coefficient is greater than |.5|, are selected. As a result, the character of selected 81 tables is that the mean of the largest cell value is .774 (S = .062), the mean of the smallest cell value is .012 (S = .016) and the mean difference of the largest cell value and the smallest cell value becomes .762. These two cells are crossed position. Consequently, 2 × 2 contingency table which has the large difference is not preferable in behavioral sciences. Additionally, the φ coefficient and Rt, the G index and Rt are plotted on the joint distribution figures. | |||||
