The quadruple time baton paths of 7 senior high school students, who had conducting experience in junior high school class choirs, were digitized as coordinate values, and from these values, the time between beats was calculated. The uneven tempo detected from these values was collated with the coordinate graph displaying the baton paths, which showed that it was caused by the uneven length of the baton paths, due to instability in the wrist or changing conducting patterns. Moreover, it was revealed that the wrist instability and pattern changes were more likely to occur on the third and fourth beats of the conducting gesture of the conductor’s right hand. In addition to self-evaluation by the students, using animation images and freeze-frames of their baton paths, the study enabled them to correct their conducting patterns based on the evaluation. With regard to the changing conducting patterns, the study identified that a pattern could be significantly improved by bringing all 4 beat points toward its center.
