Several strategies were followed to collect relevant data, among them documentary research, surveys, interviews and group meetings with practicing teachers. A historical timeline was built to guide further analyses. The study revealed a rather heteogeneous group of technology teachers dealing with extremely diverse school contents and employing traditional teaching materials and strategies. Time allocation within the school schedule was reported adequate for technology classes. Particularly emphasized were high implementation costs and the need for more in-service training.
