| 内容記述 | This author has studied the activities of 100 American school nurses in the first week of October, 1986. This thesis will describe the actual activities of the first week in October. In addition, the nurses' own estimates on each activity will be broken down according to time spent, attitude and confidence. These points became clear: 1) The most time was spent on health obervation, screening, individual health counseling, first aid and surveys of children's health. The least time was spent on checking attendance, preparing balance sheets, consulting with physicians, leading student activities and campus inspection for safety. 2) American school nurses are confident in all activities, especially in screening and first aid. 3) American school nurses display their most positive attitudes toward health counseling for individuals, counseling and consulting with teachers, health observation, health counseling for parents and referral to community resources. Their feelings are most negative toward checking attendance, preparing balance sheets, and arranging or preparing documents. 4) The average American school nurse seems to be a middle-aged woman with a bachelor's degree and clinical experience. She works at two or three schools a week. | |||||
