| 内容記述 | 本研究では英語劇活動における台本の修正のための協働対話について、理解獲得と問題解決の側面から分析する。そして、エピソードの内容との関連を記述し、母語使用の有効性について論じることを目的とした。協働対話は「話し手が問題解決や知識構築を行う対話」(Swain, 2000) のことであり、ランゲージング理論 (Swain, 2006) に基づく。ここでは「台本関連エピソード」を取り出し、エピソード内で理解獲得が見られるか、問題解決がなされているかという点について分析し、エピソードの種類と重ね合わせて比較した。分析からわかったことは、エピソードによって理解獲得と問題解決の傾向に違いがあったということである。この要因について、談話分析から考えられることは、 表面的理解に終わるエピソードは、英語の知識の有無が問われる場合が多いということである。言語理解が見られるエピソードの特徴は、エピソードの内容と関連があり、「語句の変更」「語句の追加」「文法の確認」といった、母語の知識を活用して解釈を行うものであることが明らかになった。つまり、母語使用はタスクの遂行に有効であると同時に、思考の道具として言語理解を深めるために有効であると結論づけられる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | The present study described the characteristics of script-related episodes in a drama-making activity, analyzing collaborative dialogues aimed at modifying scripts students wrote from the aspects of understanding acquisition and problem solving. The purpose of this study was to clarify the efficacy of the use of the mother language in collaborative dialogue. Collaborative dialogue defined by Swain (2000: 102) is any “dialogue in which a speaker is engaged in problem solving and knowledge building,” which is based on the languaging theory (Swain, 2006). In this study, script-related episodes; a unit of dialogue about the script were taken out from the dialogues. The researcher analyzed the script-related episodes with the views: understanding acquisition and problem solving, and categorized them according to the subject of episodes. The result showed that understanding acquisition and problem solving varied according to the subject of the episodes. This indicates that deep understanding can not be achieved in certain episodes when testing learners’ knowledge of English as a foreign language. The type of episodes in which language understanding was relatively seen were “Change of the phrase,” “Addition of the phrase,” and “Confirmation of the grammar” when interpreting the expressions in English by utilizing the knowledge of their mother tongue. In this way, the use of mother tongue is effective in accomplishing a task and developing the language understanding as the means of thought. | |||||
