| 内容記述 | The author has studied the psychological and physiological reactions to passive smoking by the questionnaire method. The survey was conducted on 4379 school children and students from May through June, 1975 and from February through March, 1976. The findings are as follows: (1) Fifty-eight % of school children and students feel a dislike to passive smoking. They feel less dislike passive smoking as they grow up. Girls dislike it more than boys. It is also found that children with non-smoking parents dislike passive smoking more than those with smoking parents. (2) Seventy-eight % of elementary school children, 67% of junior high school students and 59% of senior high school students complain of passive smoking, referring to some kinds of symptoms. The most common of them are coughing and sore throats, followed by eye irritations and tears. (3) The elementary school children and the girls tend to think their parents' smoking is not good from an emotional and health point of view. This tendency is less pronounced among the high school students and boys. On the other hand, the latter,compared with the former, have a strong tendency to think it is not good for monetary reasons. | |||||
