| 内容記述 | The purpose of the study was to examine relationship between gender-related variables and spatial abilities in Japanese subjects. For this purpose, two subject groups - primary and secondary school children and undergraduate students - participated in the experiment, using masculinity-femininity questionnaires, spatial activity scale, and spatial ability tasks. While there were significant associations of high spatial abilities and high masculinity/low femininity in younger subjects, the results in older subjects were not consistent. Implications of these findings for understanding the role of gender-stereotyped variables in acquiring spatial abilities were discussed in relation to achivement motivation. | |||||
