| 内容記述 | The present study investigated the relationship between sense of direction by self-report and performances of spatial tasks in a large-scale environment. Thirty undergraduate students (15 good sense of direction (GS) and 15 poor sense of direction (PS)) participated this study. Subjects arranged six floor planes of the campus building according with their memory for real arrangement of those buildings. The arrangements of GS were more correct than those of PS. The building of which entrance orientated neither north-south nor east-west axis was located more correctly by GS than PS. After subjects were taken through a novel environment by a specific route under experimenter's guidance, they drew a map of the travelled area and asked to travell the route in reverse. Overall spatial representations of the area of GS were superior to those of PS, but the acquired informations about individual crossing points of both groups were not different from each other. The above results suggest that GS is superior to PS with regard to the ability to organize the relationship of individual informations. | |||||
