本研究の目的は、「読むこと」の学習指導において、「語り」の持つ主観的な側面、すなわち、「語り」が恣意的で偏向した見方や考え方に基づいているありようを扱うための教材を開発することである。そこで、「語り」のそうした側面を観察しやすい『源氏物語』を取り上げ、長い心内語に語り手の評価や意見が表れている二つの場面の現代語訳を教材化する。その際、日本文学研究と国語科教育の架橋を心掛け、古典から教育的な価値を引き出す。教材としての有用性を確かめるため、中学校 2 年生を対象として、「語り」の持つ主観的な側面に関する解説を行う前後で、本文に関する選択形式の問いに回答させ、その回答に至った理由を記述させた。そして、解説の前後それぞれの記述を比較した。併せて、語り手の語った評価や意見への考えを問い、教材の「問題領域」との対話を促した。その結果、「語り」の持つ主観的な側面についての知識をもとに、教材の中にそれらの具体を見据えている記述が全体の約半数見られた。また、「語り」のありようをふまえることによって浮舟の好ましく思う対象が薫から匂宮へ変わるという読み深めも見られた。加えて、二つの場面をセットで教材化したことや、教材文にどう着目すればよいかを詳しく手引きしたことの有効性を確かめることができた。

The purpose of this study is to develop teaching materials for reading instruction on the subjective aspects of ‘narration,’ that is, how it is based on arbitrary and biased views and ways of thinking. For this purpose, ‘The Tale of Genji’ and its narrative aspects are examined. As teaching materials, I used the modern Japanese translations of two scenes in which the narrator’s evaluations and opinions are expressed via a long inner monologue. In doing so, I aimed to bridge the gap between Japanese literature studies and Japanese language education and to extract educational value from classic literature. To verify the usefulness of these teaching materials, I asked second-year junior high school students to answer multiple-choice questions about the text before and after being explained about the subjective aspects of ‘narration’ and write the reason their answer. I then compared their writing before and after the explanation. The students were also asked about their thoughts on the narrator’s evaluations and opinions, encouraging dialogue regarding any ‘problematic’ with the teaching materials. As a result, about half of the writings focused on the specifics of the teaching materials, based on knowledge of the subjective aspects of ‘narration’. Furthermore, by examining the ‘narration,’ the students improved their understanding of the object of Ukifune’s affection, which shifted from Kaoru to Niounomiya. Finally, I confirmed the effectiveness of using a set of two scenes as teaching materials and providing students with detailed guidance on how to focus on the text.
