| 内容記述 | In analyzing the national urban system, it is not sufficien tto put spotlight only on the urban system in consideration itsel fW.e also have to consider the positio nof it surban system in wider scale of space including the country, such as Europe and East Asia. One of the most effectiv eway is to compare the urban system with that of countries in neighborhood where there is so much resemblance in history and culture. And it is desirable to make a model about changing process of these urban systems, especially paying attention to the influence of important factors in global scale. In this article ,we investigate the recent changing process of urban systems of countries in West Asia and North Africa, representing by Turkey and Iran. Both of them have the largest population in this area, and have much resemblance in historia lc,ultura lfactors with another countries in thi sarea. But there is so much contrast in the relation with western countries especially after the Islamic revolution of Iran in 1979. We analyze through the population of main cities cited in the U. N. population census. In Turkey, larger cities are originally concentrated on western coastal area like Istanbul, Bursa and Izmir. This inclinatio nwas more strengthened by the 1990s, and Istanbul firmed it spositon as a primate city .The first reason of this change is that many immigrants from inner area and also returnees from Europe moved to these cities. Another reason is the development of sightseeing industry in the coastal cities like Antalya. This change shows that Turkey continue to keep strong economic link with European countries, and its urban system has been much influence dby globalizatio ni,n spit eof the existence of muslims in majority. In contrast, the urban system of Iran saw much different change in almost the same period. Tehran, although the largest city and capital, saw only littl eincrease in population, because of the attack during the Iran-Iraq War and the policy of decentralization by the government after the Islamic revolution. On the contrary, population of cities around Tehran grew so much like Qom and Karaj. And population of cities near the frontier also saw much increase like Mashhad and Zahedan, because of the increase of refugees from neighborhood countries like As is shown above, the urban system of Turkey has been under strong influence of globalizatio nB.ut the urban system of Iran had received almost no influence of globalizatio na,nd had been much influenced by the factor like local policy of the government and war including Iran-Iraq war and civil war in neighborhood countries. Judging from these, we can say that the national urban systems of countries in West Asia and North Africa will mainly be divided into two types. One is the urban systems of countries which will continue to receive much influence from globalizaton such as Turkey and Morocco. Another is the urban systems of those which will have much difficul ttyo be influenced by globalizatio nlike Iran and Syria. | |||||||
